Would You Rather Questions for Kids: 160 Silly and Fun Choices

Kids pick one of two fun options and explain why, which builds speaking skills and gets everyone laughing.

These would you rather questions for kids are short, silly and easy to answer, so even young players can join in. Each one asks a child to choose between two options, like eating ice cream for breakfast or pancakes for dinner, and then say why. There are 160 questions here in seven themes: silly, yummy food, animals, school, magic and superpowers, outdoors and seasons, and family and friends.

The game works for ages 4 and up with a grown up reading the questions, and older kids, tweens and middle schoolers can run it on their own. It needs nothing but a voice, which makes it perfect for car rides, waiting rooms, bedtime and the classroom.

How to play with kids

  1. Pick a reader. A grown up or older child reads a question out loud, or taps the picker below.
  2. Everyone chooses. Each child picks one option. Younger kids can point to the left for the first choice and the right for the second.
  3. Say why. Ask each child to give one reason. A simple "because" sentence is enough.
  4. Take turns. Let each child have a go at reading or choosing the next question.

For very young children, act out the options. If the choice is hopping like a frog or waddling like a penguin, let them show you both before they choose.

  • Brain break: use two or three questions between lessons to reset the room.
