Bridal Shower Games: 20 Fun and Unique Ideas

The best bridal shower games celebrate the couple and get guests talking, such as the Couple Quiz, Bridal Bingo and the Toilet Paper Dress Challenge.

Bridal shower games help two families and several friend groups turn into one happy crowd. This list has 20 fun bridal shower games, from easy printable quizzes to unique team challenges and couple games for co-ed showers. Each one comes with player numbers, what you need and how to play, so you can plan the afternoon in minutes.

Plan on three to five games for a typical shower. Mix one icebreaker, one quiz about the couple and one hands on challenge, and keep each game short so there is still time to eat, chat and open gifts.

Icebreakers and getting to know you

Find the Guest

Players: 10 to 50
You need: Printed bingo style grid with prompts, pens

Each square has a prompt such as "has been to the couple's favorite restaurant" or "knew the bride in school". Guests mingle and get a different signature for each square. The first full line wins. It is the quickest way to get two families talking.

Two Truths and a Wedding Lie

Players: 6 to 20
You need: Nothing

Each guest shares two true stories and one false one about the bride or the couple. Others guess the lie. It runs just like two truths and a lie and brings out stories the bride may have forgotten.

Who Knows the Bride Best

Players: 6 to 40
You need: A quiz of 15 questions answered by the bride in advance

Ask the bride things like her first concert, favorite snack and dream vacation before the shower. Guests answer the same questions on paper. Read the real answers aloud and the highest score wins.

Purse Raid

Players: 6 to 40
You need: A list of items, a scoring sheet

Read out items guests might carry: a lip balm, a receipt older than a month, a safety pin, a family photo. Each item earns points, with rare ones worth more. The guest with the highest total wins. It needs zero prep beyond the list.

Advice and Date Night Jar

Players: Any number
You need: Cards, pens, a jar

Guests write marriage advice on one side and a date night idea on the other. The couple gets a jar full of ideas for their first year. Draw one card at random for a prize.

Quizzes about the couple

He Said, She Said

Players: 6 to 50
You need: Quotes from the couple, answer sheets

Interview both partners ahead of time with the same questions. Read each answer aloud and guests guess which partner said it. Funny mismatches make this one of the most loved bridal shower games.

How Well Do You Know the Couple

Players: 6 to 50
You need: A printed quiz on how they met, the proposal and their first date

Write 10 to 15 multiple choice questions about the couple's story. Guests circle their answers and swap sheets for marking. Ask the bride to add a short story for each answer as you read them out.

Shoe Game

Players: 2 players in front of any audience
You need: One shoe from each partner

The couple sits back to back, each holding one of their own shoes and one of their partner's. The host asks "who is the better cook?" and each raises the shoe of the person they think fits. It is a perfect couple game for co-ed showers.

Wedding Word Scramble

Players: 4 to 40
You need: Printed sheet of scrambled wedding words, pens

Scramble words like "bouquet", "veil", "honeymoon" and "toast". Give three minutes and the most unscrambled words wins. It is one of the easiest free printable bridal shower games to make yourself.

Guess the Dress

Players: 6 to 40
You need: Paper, pencils

Guests sketch the wedding dress they think the bride has chosen. The bride picks the closest design, or the funniest, without giving too much away. Keep the drawings as a fun keepsake.

Creative and team challenges

Toilet Paper Dress Challenge

Players: 6 to 30, in teams of 3 or 4
You need: Several rolls of toilet paper per team, tape, a timer

Each team picks a model and has 10 minutes to design a wedding dress from toilet paper. The bride judges, or guests vote. Award prizes for most elegant and most creative. Photos from this one end up in every album.

Bouquet Building

Players: 6 to 30, in teams
You need: Bundles of loose flowers, ribbon, scissors

Give each team the same flowers and 15 minutes to make a bouquet. The bride chooses a winner, and every guest takes a small bunch home. It doubles as an activity and a favor.

Wedding Charades

Players: 8 to 40
You need: Slips with wedding words and phrases, a timer

Teams act out wedding words such as "cutting the cake", "first dance" or "lost the rings" without talking. Each round lasts one minute. Follow standard charades rules and keep score as you go.

Ring Hunt

Players: Any number
You need: Ten to twenty plastic rings hidden around the room

Hide plastic rings before guests arrive and tell them a few are hidden. Whoever finds the most by the end of the shower wins. Make it harder with one gold ring worth extra points.

Pass the Bouquet

Players: 10 to 40
You need: A small bouquet, music

Guests pass a bouquet around the circle while music plays. When it stops, the holder answers a question about the bride or gives a quick piece of advice. It works like hot potato, just slower and sweeter.

Love Song Finish the Lyric

Players: 6 to 40
You need: Song lines, a phone or speaker

Play or read the first half of a famous love song line and guests finish it. Teams of three or four make it more lively. Most correct finishes wins.

Gift time games and keepsakes

Bridal Bingo

Players: 6 to 50
You need: Blank 5x5 grids, pens

Guests fill the grid with gifts they think the bride will open, such as towels or a mixing bowl. As gifts are opened, they mark squares. First line wins and everybody stays engaged during gift time.

Gift Guessing Game

Players: Any number
You need: Paper, pens

Before each gift is opened, the giver gives one clue and the bride must guess what it is. Guests can also write their guess for a point. It speeds up gift time and makes it more fun.

Ribbon Bouquet Count

Players: Any number
You need: Paper plate with a slit, ribbons from gifts

As gifts are opened, thread the ribbons into a paper plate to create a practice bouquet for the rehearsal. Guests guess how many ribbons it will hold, and the closest wins.

Recipe Swap Card Game

Players: Any number
You need: Recipe cards sent with the invitation

Guests bring a favorite recipe card. Shuffle them, read the dish name aloud and see if everyone can guess who wrote it. The bride keeps the stack as her first family recipe box.

Planning tips for bridal shower games

  • Know the crowd. If grandparents and colleagues are coming, keep games gentle and family friendly. The quizzes and keepsake games suit everyone.
  • Prep the couple quiz early. Send questions to the bride, and her partner for a co-ed shower, at least a week ahead.
  • Print and pack a kit. Clipboards, pens, timers and spare copies save time on the day.
  • Prizes. Mini candles, chocolates, nail polish, small plants or cute notebooks work well. Let winners pick from a basket.
  • Team games. Use the random team generator so each team mixes both sides of the family.
  • Keep it moving. Ten to fifteen minutes per game is the sweet spot. End on a high, not when people are tired.
